Security Consultant Derek Ogden Joins Quantum 9
Armed with more than 27 years of experience in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Derek Ogden has joined Quantum 9 as a Level III Security Consultant.
Derek formerly served at the rank of Chief Superintendent and Director General of the National Drug Enforcement and Organized Crime Program, where he worked closely with the Department of National Defense and Justice. He brings with him extensive knowledge from three separate occasions in the role of Officer in Charge of major national law enforcement programs, having developed strategic vision for national programs, training and motivating thousands of employees.
During his time with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Derek led 1,300 investigators in a program against the most sophisticated criminals in Canada. Derek supervised the highest priority investigations, which targeted the Mafia, outlaw biker gangs and terrorist groups.
Prior to these roles, Derek served four years in two Senior Executive roles- Director of Security and Director of Anti-Illicit Trade – with the largest tobacco company in Canada. In these roles he blurred the lines of business, working with Marketing, Legal, Corporate, Human Resources and Supply Chain to develop and implement the corporate strategy to combat the company’s most significant threat to market share and profitability, illicit trade.
Derek has worked with Members of Parliament, Members of Provincial Government and senior bureaucrats. He has established a network with law enforcement agencies and government departments across Canada and the United States to effectively exchange information and intelligence. Derek establishes long-term relationships nationally and internationally with the goal of providing solutions that best serve objectives.
Derek brings to the team extensive experience in security, protection, technology and biometrics.
