Key Responsibilities for Psychedelic Therapists
For the Psychedelic Therapist job, you will:
- Facilitate safe and effective psychedelic-assisted therapy sessions in accordance with Colorado’s regulations and industry best practices.
- Assess clients’ therapeutic needs and design tailored treatment plans integrating psychedelics with evidence-based therapy techniques.
- Create a safe, supportive environment for clients during preparation, dosing, and integration sessions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical professionals, to ensure holistic care for clients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay up to date with developments in the field of psychedelic therapy and Colorado’s regulatory framework.
Qualifications for Psychedelic Therapy Job
- Education: A Master’s or Doctorate in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related mental health field.
- Licensure: Active and valid mental health license in Colorado (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, PsyD).
- Experience: Previous experience in psychedelic-assisted therapy is a plus, but candidates with experience in trauma-focused, mindfulness-based, or integrative therapy approaches are encouraged to apply.
- Training: Certification or formal training in psychedelic-assisted therapy (e.g., MAPS, CIIS, or similar) preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a deep understanding of non-ordinary states of consciousness.
