Ohio Medical Cannabis

The residents of Ohio have spoken, and on September 8th, 2016 House Bill 523 took effect which authorized the use of medical marijuana for 20 specific medical diseases and creates a control program. Governor John Kasich signed the bill which makes Ohio the 25th State in the US to allow the medicinal use of marijuana. House Bill 523 implements a strict and regulated marijuana process from the consumer to dispensing to growing and processing. The program oversaw by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy, Department of Commerce and the State Medical Board and will receive recommendations from a bipartisan 13-member Medical Marijuana Advisory Board. The regulatory agencies and the advisory board still have their work cut out, but the goal is to have the program up and running within two years.
